Caramel Frosting

I'm going to call it, Caramel Frosting is the greatest frosting flavour!!

Such a nice change to the classic chocolate and vanilla frosting flavours. Not only a hit for a celebration cake but also a great topping for cupcakes.

What kind of cake should I use caramel frosting with?

Caramel frosting is super versitile. I used it recently on a funfetti cake but I also love it with a classic chocolate cake.

Salted Caramel Frosting

Ingredients

250g unsalted butter at room temperature
4 cups of icing sugar
1 TSP vanilla essence
1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
Pinch of salt

Directions

Using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, beat butter on high until light and fluffy.
Turn mixer to low and slowly add in icing sugar 1 cup at a time. Scrape down the side of the bowl before each addition.
Add in the vanilla essence, salted caramel and salt and mix on low until fully incorporated.
